Job Description
The Assembler is responsible for cutting, buffing, polishing, and brazing tubing, as well as sandblasting and bending tubing for our products.
Department: Assembly Room
Reports To:
Assembly Supervisor
Essential Job Functions:
- Cutting tubing
- Buffing and polishing tubing
- Sandblasting tubing
- May be involved in bending tubing
- May be involved in press and/or machine operation
- May be involved in braising tubing
- Show competence in the use of the specified equipment or machinery as signed off on training reports.
- Possesses good visual quality judgment (for squareness of cut, burrs, and finish)

- Performs daily maintenance
- Performs in process checks and adjustments
- Show competence in the use of the specified equipment or machinery as signed off on training reports.
- Possesses good visual quality judgment (for in-process inspection)
- Makes offset adjustments
- Loads and unloads parts or material
- Work in a team-oriented environment
Skills and Abilities Required:

- The ability to read and follow a drawing with general and geometric dimensioning and tolerances

- Performs visual inspection for physical and/or cosmetic defects and conditions
- Uses basic inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and ring/thread gauges
- Reviews drawings / blueprints and process sheets
- Measuring abilities with the Starrett Vision System and run pre-written programs
- May need advanced knowledge and ability with the Starrett Vision System
- Close tolerance inspections
- Understand and complete inspection records
- Follows passivation procedure
- Show competence in the use of equipment or machinery as signed off on training reports
